Correction of post-traumatic deformation of the leg bones using the Ilizarov apparatus.
Patient 16 years old
As a result of a fall from a height of 3 meters, the patient suffered a closed fracture of both bones of the left tibia in the middle third with displacement of bone fragments.
At the patient’s place of residence, a surgical intervention was performed: transosseous osteosynthesis with an external fixation device of the left tibia. After repositioning the bone fragments, the device was dismantled and intramedullary transosseous osteosynthesis of the tibia was performed with a TEN rod.
After the surgery, within 1 month, a varus-antecurvation deformity appeared at the level of the tibia fracture.
The intramedullary rods were removed. The patient was referred for treatment to the Ilizarov Center.

Diagnosis: Posttraumatic varus-antecurvation deformity of the left tibia. Condition after surgical treatment.
Surgery: Osteosynthesis with an external fixation device according to Ilizarov of the left tibia. Osteotomy of the tibia at the apex of the deformity, osteotomy of the fibula in the distal third to correct the deformities.
Gradual correction of the deformity is planned.
